Upcoming Events

Holy Trinity is a vibrant new congregation in North Liberty.   If you’re looking for a Church to call home, and you’re interested in experiencing a community of of disciples seeking to live deeply in God’s ever-amazing forgiveness, come join us for worship or come to one of our other ministry events to find out more. Even if you simply want to explore your questions of faith in a more than simplistic manner, we’d love to meet you!

We worship together every Saturday night at 5:30 pm, and each Sunday at 8:15 and 10:45am! Come and join us for a prayerful, deep, and rich celebration of what God has done, is doing, and promises yet to do for every one of us!  We meet at our office/worship space at 1 Quail Creek Circle in North Liberty (directly across the “BP” station on 965 at Hawkeye Drive, and adjacent to the Golf Course).

Sunday School, Confirmation, & Adult Forums  also meet each Sunday during the Program year.    Join us in the sanctuary at 9:30am for opening singing!

Pastor’s  Page -    “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
                                            - from the liturgy for Ash Wednesday

The image was bone-chilling.   In the immediate wake of last week’s massive earthquake in Haiti, aerial photos of the capital, Port au Prince, revealed little more than a city of 3 million now […]

The Spirit has been active among us!  A new year of mission has already begun.   […]

Pastor’s  Page -    .  Wow!   What a Difference!

In last month’s issue, I felt the need to note that the month of
October presented many challenges to our mission and ministry, not the least of which was a rather precipitous drop in worship attendance.    I noted that you are both needed and […]

Pastor’s  Page  -    .  All are Needed!

Well, Iit’s certainly been a memorable month, what with illness taking it’s toll on schools, daycare centers, and many an entire family.   I hope that if you’ve been through it yourself, you are now well on the way to putting it behind you.   Yet, interestingly, […]

Pastor’s  Page  -    “Taking Stock”    Sometimes a little change can prompt one to “take stock”.  As our household made some transitions this fall, I found myself reflecting on life, callings, family & more.  It reminded me of the wisdom of my grandmother  who would tell us to “take stock of your blessings & […]

Pastor’s  Page  -    “What will Be our Witness?”
“What will be our witness?””   This was the question posed to the recent churchwide assembly by Presiding Bishop Mark Hanson..  While there were several aspects to the weeklong gathering of voting members  in Minneapolis, the bishop was referring to the question of how our church would […]

Pastor’s  Page  -    More Worship Opportunities Coming Soon!
It’s an exciting and challenging time to be part of a “New Mission Start” like Holy Trinity.    Not only is the Holy Spirit doing amazing things and in and through us, but our recent Day Camp/VBS week showed just how much the disciples in this congregation […]

It had been 24 years.   24 years since I last attempted the climb to Fall Mountain, a 12,000 foot peak on the northern edge of Rocky Mountain National Park, from a base at Sky Ranch, an ELCA camp west of Ft. Collins, Colorado where I worked one summer while in seminary.   […]

Pastor’s Page
During our most recent door-knocking effort, we met a number of our neighbors in North Liberty, & in the process, a few observations were worth sharing.    First, I was quite surprised at the number of folks who didn’t realize that Holy Trinity existed.   We have, after all, received some significant visibility […]

“Peace be with you”… and after he had said this, he showed
them his hands and feet.’                          (Luke 24:36, 40)

A couple of  Sundays ago, I remarked in my sermon that Thomas and other disciples came to  “believe” in the context of a community (the church) and in the presence of the visible […]
