A faith community created especially with youth and their families in mind so everyone may ask real life questions trusting the commitment to build authentic relationships with God and with one another.
Confirmation Ministry for 7th and 8th Graders | Typically Wednesday Evenings 6:00-8:10 p.m. September through May. Simply - this is the best two hours of every week!
Confirmation will be offered on site occasionally and through Zoom during September on a trial basis. You may choose to be Zoom only and that is perfectly fine! We practice safe distancing and masking as we limit our exposure time to one another. All Confirmation Students must register through Planning Center and update their information by September 7th. September 9 is the official start date. We will meet in person, in our cars using FM radio, or through Zoom from 6:45 to 7:30 on September 9 and 23. Please watch for the signs about drop-off and pick-up to be done safely. September 16 and 30 will be Zoom meetings only. In case of rain, outdoor activities will be cancelled and we will see you all on Zoom!
This year, confirmation students will be learning about what it means to say we are Lutheran. Adult Small Group Leaders are needed. Please contact Pastor Katie (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Ministry options will continue to be evaluated as time passes. Students in 7th grade and 8th grade gather for a meal, worship, teaching and conversation!
Typically led by Pastor Katie on Wednesday nights. In large group/small group we tackle many topics and practices of being Lutheran as we prepare students to take on the responsibility of what it means to grow in our faith.
Currently we have over 30 students. Our Confirmation ministry is vibrant! We teach using a variety of techniques to reach students where they are at! In our world - we believe every student is gifted by God! We have an unique focus on building a personal relationship with God and with others while stirring our hearts to respond with love!
We rotate our two-year program with 7-8th grade students learning all together.

Wednesday Night High School Youth Group - WYN | WYN is the highlight of our week for High School Students. Students and small group leaders gather for a meal, have their own game room and meeting space so they may reconnect with the 4+ High School Communities that attend WYN.
Outdoor meetings of the high school group will begin at 7:30 p.m. and end at 8:15 p.m. beginning September 9, 23, and 30. High school would meet 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. outside on September 16. Registration in Planning Center is required so that current information can used to contact you in event of cancellations or other activities arise. Contact Deb (email@example.com) if you are uncomfortable with being present for outdoor activities
and need accommodation. All high school youth, whether drivers or non-drivers, will need to follow the parking and drop-off plans established for confirmation to keep all youth safe (5th grade to 12th grade!). Our activity availability is in a constant state of evaluation as we progress through COVID-19. Masks are required for any on-site activities.
VBS and Day Camp Leadership Development | Typically the 3rd week of July, M-F 8:30-4:30 p.m.
6-12th grade students are part of the VBS/Day Camp Staff! We are all in for a week of faith formation and leadership development for and with our youth leaders. We have a one-of-a-kind Hybrid VBS/DC model (insert Sacred Playground endorsement here). We typically have 30 youth students join us for their own special week of being part of the group and leading within the group! Being “on-staff” as a youth leader is a BIG DEAL, so much so that we hire college-age mentors to work with our youth leaders providing all youth staff the opportunity to grow in their own faith walk as well as being a leader for elementary students and peers. We go off campus for servant projects and the youth lead on-site projects after being in their own Bible study small group.
Camp at Ewalu | We are mutual ministry partners with Camp Ewalu in Strawberry Point, Iowa http://ewalu.org/
Confirmation Camp | Typically the 3rd week of June
We believe that time dedicated to being unplugged from the daily activities and surrounded by nature is a wonderful way to experience God in new ways. As pastors, we believe attending camp is a huge part of a student’s personal discovery about God. We strongly encourage all confirmation students to attend confirmation camp when going into 7th grade. Financial assistance is available for all students.
Youth Summer Mission Trips | Students 12-18 years of age, Camps are in June or July
Each year Middle Schoolers and High Schoolers build a team for the Summer Youth Mission Trip!
In past years we have traveled to Princeton, IL, Breckenridge, MN and Ohio. Once there we join with youth from around the country and Japan to complete home improvement and handicap accessible projects for local residents. We are mutual partners with local churches and agencies serving the needs of residents in their towns and region. Visit our Mission Trips page for more information on how to sign-up.
“We are grateful to the “Thrift and Gift” team for designating their proceeds to help offset our costs!”
ELCA National Youth Gathering | Gather with 30-40,000 ELCA Students in 9th through 12th Grades, Gathering is every 3 years with a new location determined by the ELCA Youth Leadership Team. Holy Trinity teams up with other local ELCA youth ministries.
Youth Leadership & Development |
At Holy Trinity we believe that youth are not the future of the church we believe they are the church in the here and now! So we want to encourage each student to discover their spiritual gifting as well as develop their very own leadership style.
1) Students are invited to participate in Alpha for Youth to encourage
2) As they grow in their faith they are invited to take a youth friendly course on spiritual gifting. What is that? It is discovering how your unique - you - is part of building up, serving and encouraging others.
3) Serve joyfully at church and beyond.
